"La bibliothèque virtuelle sur les premiers socialismes réunit des documents produits par les saint-simoniens, les fouriéristes, Cabet et les communistes icariens, Pierre-Joseph Proudhon…, ainsi que des introductions et des bibliographies qui permettent de mieux les comprendre. Ces documents du XIX^e siècle sont pour la plupart extraits du fonds légué à l’Université par Auguste Dubois (qui fut professeur d’histoire des doctrines économiques et politiques à l’Université de Poitiers) et conservé au Fonds ancien du Service Commun de la Documentation de l’Université de Poitiers. Ce site est un travail en constante évolution. Très régulièrement, des nouveaux textes et commentaires sont mis en ligne.

The cyber-library devoted to the origins of Socialism conserves documents written by the followers of Saint Simon, Fourier, Cabet and the Icarian communists, P-J Proudhon, as well as the introductions and bibliographies which throw light on their significance. These nineteenth-century documents derive, for the most part, from the collection donated to the university by Auguste Dubois (who was professor of the history of economic and political doctrine at the University of Poitiers). They are housed in the Rare Books Room of the University Library. The work on this web site is in constant flow. New texts and commentaries are regularly posted on line
